Hello, I’m a 17-year-old girl living in Pohang. I pursued my dream of acting when I appeared in the KBS weekend drama Mr. and Mrs. Somebody (Shinsa wa Aseogi) which aired in 2021. The drama has 52 episodes. After watching about 30 episodes, I wondered, what if I appeared there too? I wait every day for various works, watch them, and strive to live with energy. I thought, isn’t there someone else out there who lives creatively through dramas and movies, like me? If I put meaning into what I love, and step out to pursue what I love, and bring happiness and fun to others, could I give people even bigger, more meaningful happiness? From that moment I became interested in acting as a profession. My family isn’t financially well-off, so acting schools are expensive and I couldn’t attend. So I decided to study on my own. I stubbornly practiced monologues every day, worked on dialects from Chungcheong to Jeju, searched for audition information, watched stage greetings and preview screenings to understand acting more deeply. I had a script from a fellow to practice with after the drama ended, printed the needed scripts with my allowance, checked the parts I lacked and where I needed more emotion, and worked hard. I would walk for three hours every night and improvise scripts I created. However, I kept failing auditions because I wasn’t enough. I will train and work hard every day to create even one project.
