The beginning of my acting career started in university, participating in a German-language laboration (theatre) club. Later, I worked as a classical play actor at a German university, performing in German. Since I had to perform in a language other than my mother tongue, it was essential to not just memorize lines but deeply interpret the meaning, emotion, and the character’s intention of every sentence. This experience helped me naturally develop a habit of analyzing scripts meticulously and of finding the hidden emotions within the text.

Classical plays have clear structures in the character’s emotions and actions; without accurately understanding the character’s motives and progression, persuasive acting is impossible. Through this process, I have become strong at portraying a character’s personality, relationships, and emotional changes in a nuanced way. The experience of focusing on the character beyond language barriers will be a significant asset even in contemporary Korean acting. In any project, I strive to approach the character with sincerity through careful analysis and thorough preparation.
