I strive to treat my body as a single instrument every time I step onto the stage. Through various disciplines—taekwondo, kendo, boxing, and dance—the senses I’ve built provide a solid foundation and a tool for free expression. The concentration and restraint learned in training to protect the body, and the spontaneity that bursts forth in movement, create new rhythms on stage.

As an actor, the moments I want to hold onto most are when a character’s inner world is moved most sensitively. I want to share small waves of emotion with the audience, not merely to be a “performing actor,” but to be an actor who lives with the character together.

On stage I don’t hide my individuality or flair, but I aim to respect the work’s rhythm and the character’s color, dissolving myself into the piece. That is the path I see for an actor and the attitude I want to continue to nurture.
