I have spent a year as a multi-character performer in the musical ‘Kim Jong-uk Is Searching,’ quickly switching between roles and mastering how to concentrate emotions in a short time. Moving between many characters while maintaining rhythm and intensity has become the foundation of my acting. In the short film ‘Love Tree,’ I played a character who keeps relationships without showing emotions, proving that emotion can be conveyed through restrained expression. Conversely, in ‘Juvenile Criminals,’ I portrayed a cruel character that contrasts with my image, learning how to create a dangerous look safely.
Through other works, I have analyzed characters from different eras and personalities, quickly understanding and absorbing them to sharpen my acting sense. This has enabled me to approach characters flexibly even in rapidly changing environments. Despite a face that might look aloof when I don’t smile, I have a high-pitched, inverted voice. I excel in roles that are nerdy yet sincere, or slightly awkward, as a devoted fan type.
I aim to be an actor who does not exaggerate emotions but finds the most precise expression within the director’s desired direction. Rather than being flashy, I want to remain a long-lasting actor who serves the work and the set.
